Our Manufacturing Process

Throughout the entire manufacturing process, strict quality control measures are implemented to maintain the desired flavor, aroma, and appearance of the tea. Each step in the process contributes to the unique characteristics of the final tea product, reflecting the craftsmanship and expertise of tea producers.

WITHERING PROCESS

After the freshly plucked tea leaves arrive at the factory, they are spread out thinly on trays or troughs in a controlled environment. This process, known as withering, allows the leaves to lose moisture naturally. Withering makes the leaves pliable and prepares them for further processing.

CTC (Crush, Tear, Curl)

During the CTC stage, withered leaves undergo rapid mechanical processing. The machine crushes, tears, and curls them into tight pellets. This ensures efficient extraction of flavors and ensures uniformity in appearance and brewing characteristics.

FERMENTATION

The fermentation stage, or oxidation, is where leaves undergo chemical changes due to oxygen exposure. This fundamental process creates the rich, robust flavors and characteristic dark color of our black teas.

DRYING

Drying follows oxidation to preserve flavor and stabilize moisture. Methods like firing or hot air drying are used, ensuring tea maintains its quality and shelf life before final sorting and packaging.
